One installer, and you are running

The same build serves the free version, the trial and Pro. Installing it asks for no administrator rights, writes only inside your own user profile, and uninstalls without leaving registry keys behind.

Works on
Windows 10 1809+ / 11, x64
Runtime
Included, nothing to install
Trial
14 days, everything on

Check what you downloaded

An installer is an executable, so do not take anyone's word for it, including ours. Compare the hash of the file you have with the one published here. If they differ, delete it.

Get-FileHash .\KDownloader-setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256

Then add the browser extension

Without it, KDownloader is something you paste links into. With it, downloads you start in Chrome or Edge are handed over automatically, with the cookies and referer that keep the link alive, and videos playing on a page turn up in the popup.

Get the extension How to connect it by hand
Downloading a video and keeping its sound needs ffmpeg on your machine. KDownloader will not fetch a 70 MB binary behind your back, so install it once with winget install Gyan.FFmpeg, or drop ffmpeg.exe into the KDownloader folder. Everything else works without it.
Windows may warn that the publisher is unknown. The installer is not signed with a commercial certificate yet; choose More info, then Run anyway, after you have checked the hash above.
